All my life I have struggled with weight issues. I have always been healthy and active, but my weight has always had the yo-yo effect. During my Marine Corps years and into the Police Academy, I was super active (and young). This made it easy to keep the weight off.

However, later on I saw myself gaining a lot of weight. I was living an unhealthy lifestyle and I was drinking heavily. When I hit thirty years old, I was really struggling.

I had no way of controlling the weight and the structure of the Marine Corps was gone. I remember trying so many fad diets and cleanses that I’m honestly embarrassed to mention. Nothing seemed to work, and I had no real nutritional foundation to fall back on.

Luckily, around this time a friend suggested CrossFit and through that I found Paleo. I applied myself and over a period of a few months the combination of high intensity workouts and hardly any carbs with paleo, I was able to lose 30lbs. But strict Paleo was just too hard to maintain and eventually a lot of the weight came back.

And now even though I OWN a CrossFit gym, the issues still maintain. I have no problems working out 5 times a week. I can keep up on runs, do muscle ups and lift all the weight. But those damn 10-15 lbs that just won’t go away.

I know that if I feel this way others do to. And my ultimate goal is to help people live happier and healthier lives.

That is why I decided to start a nutrition program at CFRC.  Over the past few weeks Tracy  Harada and I have been working to bring this to you. For anyone inside or outside the gym that is tired of all the fad diets and the lack of direction. We want people to be able to build a foundation for Health and Nutrition that can last a lifetime.

With our partner, Healthy Steps Nutrition we have created a program where someone will be able to guide you through the entire process of learning how to eat better and lose weight the right way.

We are launching our program by running a 28 Day Nutrition Challenge starting on 1/13/20.  This will be a great way to set the foundation to have an amazing and healthy 2020.

We are limiting the challenge to 20 total people and only have 6 spots left.
