Bio

Corey Anderson joins the CrossFit Rye Canyon & Barbell team as a coach specializing in general strength & conditioning, powerlifting training, and nutrition counseling. Corey focuses on one-on-one personal training and strength coaching for her clients, and also offers powerlifting specific-programming and group training services. Additionally, she provides personalized nutrition coaching to members with goals ranging from fat loss, fueling for athletic performance, and muscle gain.

After a previous career in marketing and event production and losing over 30 lbs. through moderate and sustainable nutrition and lifestyle-based habits, Corey picked up a barbell in her late 30s and fell in love with strength training and the sport of powerlifting. Corey now competes in powerlifting around the country and won gold and bronze medals at the 2021 United States Powerlifting Association’s National Championships. She is now in training for the 2022 National Championships, which are happening in Atlanta in May.

As a strength coach, Corey’s passionate about showing people of all ages and skill levels that the weights in a gym don’t have to be intimidating and can be incredibly fun and empowering to learn! She teaches people how to use dumbbells and barbells safely, with an eye on making steady improvements to confidence and strength over time.

Qualifications:

Corey is a mom of two young boys, loves being outdoors when not in the gym, and is very happy to get to know all the members of CrossFit Rye Canyon & Barbell. Come say hi!
